Position Details

Position:
Dual Licensed (Water & Wastewater) Operator.

Location:

Wildwood, FL, USA.

Pay:
Hourly, commensurate with experience.

Employment type:

Full Time.

Requirements
  • Must have both class C or higher Water Operator License and class C Wastewater Operator License issued by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection
  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • 1 year of experience
  • Experience with both water and wastewater treatment plants
  • Previous route experience highly preferred
Role Overview

The Water/Wastewater Operator operates and maintains water treatment facilities at one or more plants, processing and testing equipment to purify water to meet permit and operational requirements. The operator troubleshoots and diagnoses operational problems and takes corrective action per procedure and process knowledge. S/he monitors flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures, and related controls through instrument panels and programmable logic control units in the assigned area.

S/he monitors and records operating conditions, observations, and data in the area shift log, ensuring conformance to process specifications. S/he verifies and reports suspected malfunctions and variances to a supervisor, performs routine and preventative maintenance as assigned, performs field laboratory tests (chemical and physical) to pace chemical dosages for efficient process control, and ensures that all safety and environmental requirements are consistently achieved, including strict compliance.
