Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Description Role Summary / Purpose

In this role you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and automated systems to maximize safety, quality, and uptime. You’ll work across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and controls disciplines to diagnose faults, execute PM/CM work orders in the CMMS, and return equipment to service quickly and reliably.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production assets (e.g., CNC/gantry machines, heat‑treat/curing ovens, vacuum/thermal systems, welders, automated cells/robots, conveyors, vision/inspection, leak/pressure test stands, dust collection, and related fixtures and tooling).
  • Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC drives, VFDs, servos, motors, gearboxes, bearings, couplings, sensors, relays, solenoids, valves, actuators, and safety circuits.
  • Read/interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams, and OEM manuals to isolate faults and perform repairs.
  • Use diagnostic tools (multimeter, megger, oscilloscope, IR camera, ultrasonic leak detector, vibration/temperature tools) to identify root causes and verify repairs.
  • Perform basic PLC/HMI fault finding (Allen-Bradley/Siemens or similar); implement minor parameter changes under engineering guidance and site change‑control.
  • Execute work orders, document findings, and close out tasks in the CMMS (MaintainX or similar); record parts used and update equipment history.
  • Support equipment installations, startups, and capability/run‑off; assist with upgrades, retrofits, and calibrations as directed.
  • Apply 5S/TPM practices; identify and implement improvements to reduce chronic failures, MTTR, and energy/wear.
  • Follow all safety procedures (LOTO, NFPA 70E arc‑flash PPE, machine guarding, hot work, confined space as applicable); immediately address and escalate unsafe conditions.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering to prioritize work, communicate status/ETAs, and return equipment to qualified operation.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • 3–5+ years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience (multi‑craft).
  • Proficiency with 480V three‑phase power, 208V, and 120V. Able to safely de‑energize, test, and verify.
  • Hands‑on experience with pneumatics/hydraulics (air prep units, regulators, cylinders, valves) and mechanical systems (alignment, lubrication, precision assembly).
  • Ability to read/interpret schematics, prints, and OEM documentation; complete clear maintenance records in English.
  • Willingness to support a rotating/on‑call schedule, overtime, and off‑shift coverage as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with control circuits (24

    VDC/120

    VAC), sensors, and VFDs.
  • Background with machining centers, welding systems, heat‑treat/vacuum/oven processes, automated inspection, or aerospace manufacturing.
  • CMMS proficiency; basic parts/PM planning and kitting.
  • Familiarity with RCA tools (5‑Whys, fishbone), TPM, and basic reliability concepts (MTBF/MTTR).
