Classic Metals Suppliers Corp. is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Class A Delivery Driver to transport building materials and related products to customers and Company locations throughout Florida. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely deliveries while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations.

Job Summary:

The CDL Class A Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation and delivery of materials, products, and equipment using Company-owned commercial motor vehicles. The Driver must comply with all applicable federal, state, local, Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Company safety requirements, and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate Class A commercial motor vehicles, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and other assigned equipment.
  • Transport materials and products to customers, vendors, and Company locations.
  • Conduct required pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Secure loads in accordance with safety regulations and Company procedures.
  • Maintain required delivery documents, inspection reports, logs, and records.
  • Obtain customer signatures and delivery acknowledgments as required.
  • Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch personnel, and management.
  • Report accidents, delays, mechanical issues, traffic violations, and safety concerns immediately.
  • Comply with all DOT, FMCSA, Company safety policies, and applicable transportation regulations.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and material handling activities when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
  • Proven experience as a truck driver.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
  • Ability to operate a truck in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Physical fitness and ability to load and unload heavy cargo.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Technology Requirements:

This position requires the use of Company-approved technology for dispatching, navigation, delivery verification, communication, fleet management, and operational reporting.

Applicants must be able to utilize Company-approved mobile applications through a compatible smartphone or Company-authorized device as an essential function of the position.

Physical Requirements
  • Sit for extended periods while operating a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Frequently enter and exit the vehicle cab, including climbing steps and maintaining three points of contact.
  • Perform physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and other movements necessary to complete deliveries and vehicle inspections.
  • Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds and handle heavier items with appropriate equipment or assistance.
  • Secure, inspect, and handle cargo using straps, chains, tarps, and other load-securing equipment, as applicable.
  • Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and roadside inspections, including checking tires, lights, fluid levels, and other vehicle components.
  • Safely operate commercial vehicles in varying road, traffic, weather, and environmental conditions.
  • Utilize vehicle controls, GPS/navigation systems, mobile applications, communication devices, and electronic delivery documentation systems.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, weather conditions, noise levels, and work environments.
  • Maintain sufficient visual acuity, with or without reasonable accommodation, to safely operate a commercial vehicle; read road signs, traffic signals, GPS devices, delivery documents, and vehicle gauges; judge distances and clearances; and identify potential hazards.
  • Possess adequate peripheral vision, depth perception, and color recognition to safely maneuver vehicles and recognize traffic signals, roadway markings, warning lights, and safety indicators.
