Traveling 6-Month Co-Op Opportunity
Braun Intertec is seeking students pursuing degrees in engineering, construction management, or related fields, and other interested candidates to join our Traveling 6-Month Co-Op opportunity. Chosen Co-ops will receive in-depth technical training and industry certifications upon successful completion of examinations and demonstration of ability. As a Co-op, you will get the chance to perform a variety of testing on construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
Onsite materials testing is conducted on various commercial and transportation construction projects, where you will also work with project managers and other technicians to ensure specifications are followed. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and be able to lift 75+ pounds. Co-ops will frequently be required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
At times, this position may be working at or on uneven terrain, varying heights, in confined spaces, or supported trenches.
Training throughout the program includes comprehensive construction safety, nuclear density gauge, American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Technician I, and materials laboratory training. Hands-on application of classroom knowledge and theories to real construction situations, including the means and method of construction and working towards resolution of issues arising during construction. Mentoring from a licensed engineer and practical engineering applications. Learning procedures and gaining exposure to ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, and DOT standards.

Basic requirements include a high school diploma or equivalency, a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Must be able to commit to full-time employment for six months; from May to November/December. Ability to lift 50-75 lbs safely, "working safe" attitude and mindset, ability to work independently and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, aptitude to learn and perform required mathematical equations used in field testing, and willingness to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
Willingness to work outdoors in various climates and terrains/conditions.
Preferred requirements include experience driving a pickup truck or other large vehicle(s), college student working toward civil engineering or construction management degree or related field, some related work experience (construction, labor, landscaping, engineering, etc.), and mechanical aptitude with practical problem-solving skills.
Compensation Range: $37,000.00 - $56,000.00
