Job Overview

Fairview Range is hiring a Custodian for our Housekeeping department in Hibbing, MN.

As a custodian, you will perform a variety of support service functions as well as project-type work and cleaning in order to keep the physical facility orderly, aesthetically attractive, clean and sanitary.

This position will work 40 hours per two weeks on the Day shift. Weekends:
Every other.

• Maintain hard surface floors, project cleans, and maintain hard surface and carpeted floors.
• Use good technique to clean and refinish hard surface floors and extract carpeted floors.
• Apply appropriate seal and finish to floors.
• Properly use caution signs and control traffic while doing projects.
• Effectively coordinate project cleaning to not disrupt workflow of departments and customers. Communicate with departments and plan the workflow.
• Move furniture and put it back in correct locations.
• Provide a superior level of cleaning quality in an assigned area to maintain a clean working environment consistent with department procedures and protocol.
• Use proper chemicals and dilution ratios, proper supplies for task and replenish supplies.
• Demonstrate knowledge and application of infection control standards, isolation room cleaning, personal protective equipment and appropriate hand hygiene techniques.
• Follow proper procedures for assigned areas and properly document work assignments.
• Properly handle and dispose of regulated, non-regulated and recyclable waste.
• Work independently and remain flexible to change in assignments and tasks as needed. Able to switch or take on duties including filling in Environmental Service Assistant duties, etc.
• Demonstrate knowledge of linen, assemble and distribute adequate amounts of linen to locations and delivery procedures including accurately weighing and documenting weights to appropriate departments, adjusting par levels as needed and remove stained and damaged linen needing repair from inventory.
• Demonstrate knowledge of procedures and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate successful completion of cleaning standards by evidence of quality inspections.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Six months verifiable experience in working with refinishing of hard surface flooring and carpet cleaning method.

The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting. An individual's pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract. If your role is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer, is what will be honored.
