Qualifications
  • Must have excellent welding, fabricating, communication, and mechanical skills.
  • Extensive experience welding thin metal of .020″
  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings and measuring instruments.
  • Must be quality and detailed orientated as a MIG/TIG Welder.
  • Skilled in maintaining exacting tolerances and high-quality finishes to meet stringent aerospace industry standards. Works well with team members and other departments.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
Duties
  • Maintain a safe and ethical work environment.
  • Production (job shop) welding of high precision metal components.
  • Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding of steel, aluminum, and stainless parts down to .020”.
  • Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding of steel, aluminum, and stainless parts .020”.
  • Work directly with production manager to ensure that job priorities are established.
  • Use ERP software (Kinetic by Epicor) to build and execute the production schedule.
  • Follow work center guidelines.
  • Check Job Traveler for specific and/or special instructions.
  • Interpret engineering drawings.
  • Select appropriate tools and metals, measuring & assembly metal pieces.
  • Use cutting and grinding tools.
  • Set up and maintain welding (and other) machines.
  • Work from drawings/prints to produce Quality conforming parts.
  • Perform both visual and dimensional inspections to quality standards.
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials.
