Who will you be working with?
L&M Radiator, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions for heavy equipment in mining, oil, gas, construction and heavy industrial industries. You will join our Tubing team as a Tube Machine Operator, working directly with other tubers, tubing supervisors, Assembly, R&D, and Production Manager to meet daily production goals.
How will you make a difference?As a member of the Tubing team you will manufacture, produce, assemble, and inspect tubes on the solder line, maintain production records, and support training for new team members. The role is part of creating a product that stands out in the heat transfer market. This position reports directly to the Tubing Supervisor.
Shift ScheduleShifts rotate every other week: day shift Monday‑Friday 6:00 am ‑ 2:00 pm; afternoon shift Monday‑Friday 2:00 pm ‑ 10:00 pm. Overtime may be required depending on production needs.
What do we want to know about you?- 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of work experience.
- Set‑up and operate the tube machine to produce completed tubes.
- Assemble tubes with gilling and place them in the strip solder machine.
- Inspect and remove parts from solder lines, listening for loose gilling.
- Perform light maintenance on the machines.
- Assist in training others on the tube machine.
- Follow all appropriate work instructions.
- Set‑up and operate RTTS and aluminum tube machine.
- Assist in other areas of production as needed and qualified.
- Perform work in a safe manner and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Domestic and international travel may be required depending on the project.
- Perform related work and other duties as required by supervisor.
- Wear correct PPE: earplugs, protective eyewear, steel‑toed boots, and work‑provided uniform (gloves when necessary).
- Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Stand on concrete for 8‑10 hours.
- Work in high heat conditions.
- Practice and maintain safe work conditions.
Skills and Abilities
Required for Entry Level
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Basic math skills; ability to use calipers, tape measure, and micrometers.
- General computer skills for looking up specs, job orders and clocking in.
- Understanding of how mechanical components work and fit together.
- Ability to communicate, in English, effectively and clearly by written and verbal means.
- Willingness to learn new tasks.
- Manual dexterity based on past experiences.
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment written math test, physical, drug and background test.
- 1 year of experience in manufacturing or similar field.
- Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
May also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade; adequate training will be provided if necessary.
This role is eligible for a performance bonus.
SalaryThe hourly range for this role is $21.00 – $30.50. The actual hourly rate offered may be influenced by training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location, and may be modified in the future.
