Job DescriptionL&M Radiator, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions that are custom‑made for heavy equipment in the mining, oil, gas, construction and heavy industrial industries. We are looking for an individual to join our Tubing team. As a Tube Machine Operator, you will work directly with other tubers and tubing supervisors on a daily basis to ensure production goals are met.
This position works directly with other tubers, the tubing supervisors, Assembly, Research & Development, and the Production Manager when necessary.
- Set‑up and operate the tube machine to produce a completed tube.
- Assemble tube with gilling and place in the strip solder machine.
- Inspect and remove parts from solder lines and listen for loose gilling.
- Perform light maintenance on the machines.
- Assist in training others on the tube machine.
- Follow all appropriate work instructions.
- Set‑up and operate RTTS and aluminum tube machine.
- Assist in other areas of production as needed and qualified.
- Perform work in a safe manner and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Domestic and international travel possible depending on the project.
- Perform related work and other duties as required by supervisor.
- Shift rotation: day (Mon‑Fri 6:00 am‑2:00 pm) and afternoon (Mon‑Fri 2:00 pm‑10:00 pm); OT possible as needed.
- 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED with 1 year of work experience.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Basic math skills; ability to learn how to use calipers, tape measure, and micrometers.
- General computer skills for looking up specs, job orders, and clocking in.
- Understand how mechanical components work and fit together.
- Ability to communicate in English effectively and clearly by both written and verbal means.
- Willingness to learn new tasks.
- Manual dexterity based on past experiences.
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment written math test, physical, drug and background test.
- 1 year of experience in manufacturing or a similar field.
- Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
- Wear correct PPE – earplugs, protective eye wear, steel‑toed boots, and work‑provided uniform (gloves when necessary).
- Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Stand on concrete for 8‑10 hours.
- Work in high heat conditions.
- Practice and maintain safe work conditions.
