Position Summary
Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, actively listening to associates touring stores, and providing feedback.
Responsibilities- Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.
- Introduce and lead company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate objectives to teams.
- Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
- Manage and support customer service initiatives (e.g., store-of-the-community/community outreach programs), ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved.
- Develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies and provide process improvement leadership, ensuring a high‑quality customer experience.
- Drive the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL profit‑loss statements, managing budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses, and ensuring they are indexed to sales.
- Ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes; develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals for the business area.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, providing recognition, and promoting a sense of belonging.
- Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.
- Coordinate, complete, and oversee job‑related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
- Identify and communicate goals and objectives, build accountability, measure progress, identify improvement opportunities, demonstrate adaptability, and promote continuous learning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, support the company mission, values, ethics, and the Open Door policy, and provide direction in executing business processes and practices.
- Foster a culture of belonging, embrace diversity, create a workplace where associates feel supported and connected, and create opportunities for all associates to thrive and perform.
- Act with integrity, maintain highest standards of ethics and compliance, model Walmart values, hold oneself and others accountable, support Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company, eliminate waste, and participate in local giving.
- Deliver customer‑focused results, consider how, where, and when customers shop, and apply the EDLP and EDLC business models.
- Make data‑informed decisions, balance short‑ and long‑term priorities, and consider all stakeholders when making plans.
- Strive for excellence by displaying curiosity, taking calculated risks, demonstrating resilience, encouraging learning from mistakes, driving continuous improvements, adopting new technologies, and supporting others through change.
- 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- For firearms facilities: successful completion of a criminal background check (CBC) and firearms‑specific training; for ammunition facilities: current state‑issued certificate of eligibility.
- Required to attend and complete all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership (Live Better U, Bellevue University).
- General work experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing responsibilities.
- Competitive hourly pay ($31.25 – $38.46) with annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
