Upper Lakes Foods is the largest independent, wholesale food distributor in Minnesota. The company has three facilities located in Cloquet, MN, Northfield, MN and Janesville, WI. We distribute food throughout the Upper Midwest. Upper Lakes Foods specializes in serving food service operators such as independent restaurants, assisted living facilities, schools, and national and regional food service chain accounts with a strong focus on customer service.

As a Full Time Sales Account Representative/Executive at Upper Lakes Foods you’ll be at the forefront of fostering strong, long‑term relationships with both current and prospective customers. Your role will involve dynamic outbound sales efforts, including scheduled calls, cold outreach, and on‑site visits, all while presenting tailored product solutions that highlight our value. You’ll support customers with product demonstrations, menu planning, and hands‑on training, ensuring they receive the best experience possible.

Engage in vibrant customer events, food shows, and promotional activities to showcase our offerings.

With an analytical eye, you'll review sales reports and customer activity to optimize performance. Plus, your coordination with logistics will ensure smooth delivery schedules. As a key team player, you'll embrace continuous learning, collaborate with suppliers for growth opportunities, and actively represent Upper Lakes Foods in community outreach, all while building lasting relationships both within the company and the local community.

Are you the Sales Account Representative/Executive we’re looking for?

To thrive as a Full Time Sales Account Representative/Executive at Upper Lakes Foods, you'll need a combination of technical skills and personal attributes. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are essential for on‑site visits, while your ability to master the Serve Safe food handling certification within your first 90 days is a must. Proficiency in Microsoft Office—particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook—is crucial, along with comfort using basic office equipment.

You should have outstanding organizational and multi‑tasking skills, paired with a problem‑solving attitude to complete projects from inception to completion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills will help you build strong relationships with customers and colleagues. Flexibility under pressure and the capacity to lift up to 40 pounds regularly round out the requirements.

This role will truly allow you to showcase your ability to engage meaningfully with others while supporting food industry innovation!
