Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to join our team. This position focuses on operating and optimizing horizontal lathes and/or mills, with responsibility for reading technical blueprints, setting up machines, adjusting cutting paths, and ensuring quality output. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on machining experience in a manufacturing environment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret technical drawings and set up machines in accordance with blueprints
- Operate CNC machines including lathes and mills to produce precision parts
- Perform quality checks to ensure products meet engineering specifications
- Adjust machine cutting paths, tooling, and settings to improve efficiency while maintaining quality
- Research and maintain knowledge of existing and emerging CNC technologies
- Support prototype machining operations from quality planning through first‑piece approval
- Assist with capital improvement projects, equipment justification, and technology implementation
- Track, analyze, and communicate production data to support process improvements
- Benchmark and implement industry best practices for machining operations
- Troubleshoot CNC code, tooling issues, and machine operations
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNC Machinist (lathe and/or mill) such as Haas, Mazak, DMG Mori, Okuma, Doosan, Hurco, Fanuc, or similar platforms
- Strong proficiency in CNC machining, including setups, troubleshooting, tooling, and machine operation
- Skilled in interpreting technical blueprints and drawings
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
- Experience with AutoCAD, Gibbs
CAM, Mastercam, Esprit, or similar software is a plus but not required - Familiarity with Lean principles, continuous improvement, and waste reduction methods
- Hourly rate: $26 - $45/hour depending on experience
