Job Overview – Assurance Manager/Senior Assurance Manager – 34126

Our client is seeking an experienced Assurance Manager or Senior Assurance Manager with a strong background in leading assurance engagements and serving as a trusted advisor to privately held clients. Compensation: up to $150K.

This role offers meaningful leadership responsibility, direct client interaction with business owners and executives, and flexibility with a hybrid schedule (2–3 days per week in the Hickory office). Our client is a well‑established regional assurance and advisory firm serving small to midsized privately held companies throughout the Southeast. Client base is heavily concentrated in manufacturing, distribution, and closely held businesses that value long‑term relationships and hands‑on advisory support.

Unlike national firms with rigid structures, they pride themselves on a collaborative culture, practical business insight, and a sustainable workload model—including a lighter hourly requirement during busy season.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor audit staff and seniors across multiple engagements
  • Foster a high‑performance, collaborative team environment
  • Review work papers and provide technical guidance and coaching
  • Assist with staff development, performance feedback, and training
  • Manage audit and review engagements from planning through completion
  • Serve as primary point of contact for manufacturing and closely held clients
  • Identify internal control improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Provide value‑added insights beyond compliance
  • Ensure compliance with GAAS and firm quality standards
  • Review financial statements and related disclosures
  • Assist with complex technical accounting matters
  • Stay current on evolving accounting and assurance standards
Qualifications
  • Active CPA license required
  • 6+ years of public accounting experience in assurance
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines effectively
