The Field Engineer is an entry-level field role designed for early-career construction professionals. This position supports jobsite operations while developing the technical and leadership skills required to progress into Superintendent roles. The Field Engineer works closely with Superintendents and Project Managers to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with DELCO standards.
Responsibilities- Assist with daily jobsite operations, scheduling, and coordination activities.
- Support subcontractor coordination and monitor progress against schedules.
- Assist with quality control checks and report issues to project leadership.
- Maintain project documentation, logs, and field reports.
- Participate in safety planning, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Learn DELCO field management systems, scheduling tools, and reporting processes.
- Develop leadership and supervisory skills through mentorship and hands-on experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or currently pursuing a degree in a related program).
- 3 years of construction or field experience.
- Basic understanding of construction processes and jobsite operations.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to use digital field reporting and project management tools.
- Internship or coop experience in commercial construction.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and interest in a Superintendent career path.
