Build roads. Run nights. Own the field.

A growing, well-established heavy civil contractor is putting a major roadway and utility project in the ground in the Hickory, NC area — and they need a night-shift Superintendent who can take the whole operation and run with it. If you've built highway, moved dirt, and set pipe, this is your job site. You'll call the shots on grade, production, and crews from dusk to done, with a company that backs its people and keeps its pipeline full.

This isn't a babysitting job. It's your field to lead.

What You'll Run

Own field planning and execution for all earthwork, highway, utility, and mass-excavation work — start to finish.

Schedule and direct your crews, equipment, and subcontractors to hit budget and beat the clock.

Read the plans, set the grade, check survey control, and keep production moving every shift.

Control labor, equipment, material, and sub costs — and deliver on time, on budget.

Run a safe, tight night operation: job-site organization, daily job costing, and no surprises.

Lead by example — when it's time to grab a shovel, set pipe, or jump on iron, you're in it with the crew.

What You Bring

5+ years managing field crews on civil / highway construction operations.

Real command of earthwork, grading, roadway, and underground utility work.

Ability to read CPM schedules, plans, and specs — and turn them into daily production.

OSHA 30 certification (or willing to earn it within 30 days).

Strong leadership, organization, and communication. Valid driver's license.

Ready to run nights, with weekend work expected. Local or out of town (overnight stays when the job calls for it).

What You Get

$130,000–$160,000 to start — based on your skills and experience.

Comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance.

401(k) with a 4% company match.

FSA program.

8 paid holidays plus a personal floating holiday.

120 hours of PTO your first year.

Why This One

You'll run your own operation for a contractor with a stacked project pipeline and a culture that promotes the people who perform. Do the work, lead the crew, and there's room to grow.

Ready to run it? Apply now.
