Swavelle Group, is one of the most diverse leaders in the textile industry supplying furniture manufacturers, retailers, residential and contract jobbers, and the RV industry. We have an immediate opening for a Woven Designer to join our team.

The Woven Design Assistant will collaborate closely with the design team throughout the full product development cycle from initial concept through launch, across all collections. This role supports day-to-day design and development functions for woven, print, and multi-purpose categories, with a strong focus on developing woven products for the Residential market.

Key Responsibilities Product Development & Administrative Support
  • Manage ongoing correspondence with overseas vendors
  • Partner with vendors on sampling, revisions, testing, costing, and mill specifications
  • Organize and maintain product development samples and color materials for collections
  • Create setup documents, standards, measurements, checklists, and spec sheets for new collections
  • Serve as a design liaison between internal departments
  • Scan purchased artwork and process invoices
  • Support custom projects by labeling, cutting, and organizing samples as needed
Design Support
  • Participate in internal design meetings and communicate key information to external teams when required
  • Assist in the design of woven patterns for collections and customer-specific projects
  • Execute color work for patterns and communicate direction clearly to vendors
Qualifications & Skills
  • Open to recent graduates; ideally 2 years of design experience within the residential industry
  • BFA in Textile Design or related field
  • Strong proficiency in EAT or similar design platforms, along with Adobe Photoshop
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent color sense and attention to detail
  • Highly organized with strong multitasking abilities
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
