Salary
$4,794.00 - $5,264.00 Monthly
Responsibilities- Plan, design, and deliver accessible, quality instruction in classroom, laboratory, clinical, or distance learning settings, ensuring student understanding of course outcomes.
- Teach 15-22 contact hours per semester, preparing objectives, assignments, assessments, instructional materials, grading standards, and attendance policies in accordance with college and department policies.
- Maintain and update course syllabi and online materials; begin and end each class on schedule.
- Create an inclusive learning environment using frameworks such as Culturally Responsive Teaching and Universal Design for Learning.
- Offer office hours, respond to student communications promptly, and provide academic and career advising consistent with program requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and final reports as required by institutional policy.
- Develop new courses or revise content, recommend textbooks and supplies, and provide input into program sequencing and scheduling.
- Participate in institutional effectiveness processes, including program review, course outcome assessment, and grant preparation.
- Contribute to recruitment, retention, and public relations activities for the program.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support instructional quality and departmental, division, or college-wide goals.
- Engage in professional development activities (at least 20 hours per academic year) and attend relevant workshops, seminars, and conferences.
- Mentor part‑time instructors, assisting with course outcomes, assessments, grades, and attendance reporting.
- Support college initiatives of retention, progression, and completion for all student learners.
- Adhere to all college policies, procedures, and faculty guidelines.
- Serve on standing and ad hoc committees and focus groups.
- Research and recommend instructional program improvements and maintain professional contacts.
- Assist with inventory of programmatic equipment and manage lab facilities.
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience as a diesel and heavy equipment technician.
- Associate degree in Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology or equivalent; five (5) years of technician experience, or high school diploma with eight (8) years of technician experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or ASE Certified Master Medium‑Heavy Truck Technician certification (preferred).
- Prior teaching experience and/or experience using a learning management system for hybrid or distance education courses (preferred).
- Knowledge of instruction principles, UDL implementation, record‑keeping, assessment, safe work practices, equipment operation, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Ability to interpret and apply college policies, federal, state, and local regulations, communicate clearly, work independently, follow safety rules, and handle mechanical equipment safely.
- Full‑time, 12‑month position; 36 hours per week, requiring on‑campus presence for at least 27 hours across four weekdays.
- Regular local travel between campuses; occasional out‑of‑state travel for training or conferences.
- Work in classroom and lab environments, handling moderate lifting and extended computer use.
