Role Purpose
Serve as an electrical controls resource for the Divisional Engineering Global Equipment team driving new equipment & system introductions, process improvements and cost reduction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Provide electrical and controls engineering expertise in support of new equipment & system introductions, continuous improvements, cost reductions, maintenance, and productivity improvements.
- Actively participate / direct all phases of the project including design, fabrication, installation, production start‑up support, training of plant personnel and technology transfer.
- Act as the Controls Division engineering POC (Point of Contact) and internal subject matter expert in control systems (PLC, HMI, Motion Control Systems, Machine Vision), system integration, sensors and electro‑mechanical devices to support the reception of new automated technology and deployment in manufacturing plants.
- Develop control architectures and system integration requirements that will satisfy process and manufacturing requirements.
- International travel to support operations and manufacturing requirements in Mexico, Poland, and China.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5+ years of electrical / controls experience with machine vision systems, programming PLCs and HMIs, and robotics (Fanuc).
- Ability to perform a machine safety risk assessment.
- 2+ years experience with AutoCAD or E-Plan.
- Omron, Allen Bradley (AB) PLC and HMI programming skills.
- Able to travel globally (Mexico, Poland, and China at a minimum).
- Manufacturing experience.
- Experience with SISTEMA evaluations.
- Knowledge of SCADA (GE iFix, Ignition, or similar).
- Project Management skills.
