Machine Vision Engineer
At Corning, the Machine Vision Engineer develops and deploys vision-based solutions across multiple manufacturing plants. The role focuses on quality inspection, process monitoring, automation, and data collection to improve manufacturing performance, efficiency, and throughput.
What You’ll Do- Design, implement, and support machine vision applications
- Use imaging and machine learning tools to automate manufacturing processes
- Partner with engineering, operations, and process teams to solve plant challenges
- Analyze process data and apply optimization methods to improve performance
- Document results and contribute to technical innovation
- BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
- 3+ years with BS/MS degree in another engineering field is acceptable
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
- Programming experience in Python, C/C++, or C#
- Experience with machine vision systems, smart cameras, or industrial vision platforms
- Basic understanding of machine learning
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills
- Cognex, Keyence, Halcon, Vision Pro, or LabVIEW
- PLC programming, especially Allen‑Bradley
- Electrical controls systems
- Process control, data analysis, and system modeling
- Databricks, AWS, or Six Sigma/DMAIC
- Up to 25% domestic travel
- Typically 40 hours/week, with occasional nights or weekends based on project needs

The range for this position is $82,051.00 - $ assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
