Schedule: 3 12‑hour shifts, rotating with weekends and holidays

Shift: Full Time – Days 7am – 7pm

Position Summary

Examine patients with breathing‑related conditions and conduct diagnostic testing. Consult with physicians to develop and implement a treatment plan for the patient. Perform physiotherapy and other treatments and teach patients to use medications.

Essential Functions

• Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
• Deliver and assess response to ordered therapy per care plan.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices. Respond to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
• Assess patient condition and deliver appropriate treatment.
• Educate the patient and family about the patient’s illness and provide information about community support groups and other resources.
• Monitor, receive stocks, and distribute respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
• Maintain storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
• Disassemble, clean, sterilize equipment, and perform preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.

Education / Certification

• Associate degree in science required.
• Current unencumbered clinical license according to the state of practice guidelines.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire date.
