POSITION SUMMARY

Supports payroll, timekeeping, HR administration, and employment compliance, with primary responsibility for accurate and timely weekly payroll and commission payments. Provides day-to-day HR support to employees and management and works closely with HR, Finance/Accounting, supervisors, and management. Location Hickory NC, very limited travel requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process weekly payroll and commission payments; review payroll information for accuracy and resolve discrepancies before processing.
  • Maintain payroll data including pay changes, deductions, direct deposits, tax elections, bonuses, retroactive pay, commissions, and other special payments.
  • Administer ADP payroll/timekeeping functions, employee records, new hires, changes, transfers, terminations, system access, and routine troubleshooting.
  • Monitor timecards for missing punches, incorrect hours, overtime, PTO/leave, and other exceptions; work with employees and supervisors to correct issues.
  • Support onboarding, benefits changes, personnel records, employee communications, HR documentation, and routine employee HR/payroll questions.
  • Support compliance with wage and hour requirements, Form I-9, garnishments and other required deductions, record retention, audits, and year-end W-2 activities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee, compensation, payroll, and personnel information.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of payroll, HR, timekeeping, or related administrative experience preferred; ADP payroll/HRIS/timekeeping experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with weekly payroll and commission-based compensation preferred; working knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour requirements, and employment compliance.
  • Strong Excel, Outlook, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and computer skills.
