Job DescriptionPerform testing that a Materials Tech normally completes: preparation of cable samples, materials preparation for aging in different environments, testing incoming materials, work with Physical Testing load frames, and many other laboratory equipment.
This employee will maintain organization of test samples, and perform data transfer from computer to Excel documentation or to the Notes system.
They will need to work with engineers to get them the information needed for the work being requested.
Willingness and ability to follow lab procedures and directions
Willingness and ability to perform repetitive work. This position can be very monotonous, candidates need to be aware of that when applying.
QualificationsEducation:
- 2 or 4 year degree in Chemistry or Material Science is preferred, but not required.
- Candidates with a 2 year degree will be given first preference.
- 4 year degrees are acceptable.
- Anything over a 4 year degree will likely be overqualified.
Experience:
- 1-3 Years with AAS, will consider new grads with BS in Chemistry or Material Science.
