Responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the transfer car. Duties and responsibilities include operation and care of transfer car in a safe manner, completing and documenting a transfer car inspection form before start of shift, delivering appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time, maintaining neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas, completing necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, maintaining accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and computer, maximizing the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed, adhering to daily production schedule, making recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery and service goals, completing necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, complying with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping, and additional duties may be assigned by management.
Language skills include reading and following instructions on factory masters. Mathematical skills include reading a tape measure with speed and accuracy, calculating figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate, and applying concepts of high school math. Reasoning ability includes applying common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form, and dealing with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
Technical skills include a working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities, product layouts and production specifications, product quality specifications, and quality standards.
Required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
Physical demands include those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job.
Education and/or experience:
High school diploma or GED. Candidates are preferred who offer the following: prior work experience in the corrugated industry, and prior work experience as a forklift operator.
