Mechanical Technician II
Tekberry is looking for a Mechanical Technician II to work onsite with our client, a leading global manufacturing company. This role focuses on capacity additions, line installations, and equipment debug from a mechanical perspective. The ideal candidate will have experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments and possess strong mechanical engineering skills. As a W2 employee, you will have access to health benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and/or participate in manufacturing engineering projects related to capacity installations, equipment debug, and operations handover.
- Provide mechanical expertise to proactively identify technical problems and implement robust industrialized solutions.
- Design and implement mechanical solutions to improve equipment performance.
- Work closely with vendors and suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure project scope, timing, and cost are maintained.
- Support new equipment/process introductions and continuous improvement efforts.
- Develop and update engineering and operations documentation.
- Manage spare parts identification and maintain storeroom inventory for multi-plant operations.
- Train operations workforce on equipment and process changes.
Must-Have
Qualifications:
- Education:
Associate degree in a relevant field - Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in new equipment installations in a manufacturing environment.
- Start-up experience is a plus.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-priority project environments.
- Technical
Skills:- Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in an independent work environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Ability to shift tasks quickly and manage aggressive project milestones.
Nice-to-Have
Skills:
- Project leadership/management experience, including financial responsibility and milestone tracking.
- Experience in vendor/supplier management.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
Working Conditions:
- Travel required between Newton and Hickory, NC.
- Overtime expected based on project needs.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
