The Frye Heart Center, partnered with the Duke Heart Network, is the only Duke Heart affiliate in Western North Carolina. Frye is a comprehensive heart center performing more than 6,750 heart procedures annually and operates as a Chest Pain Center with accredited PCI, offering 24/7 interventional cardiology.
Orientation Program for New Graduate RNsFrye Regional Medical Center offers a specialized orientation process designed to ease new graduates into a hospital setting:
- Instructor‑led courses based on the latest evidence‑based practice
- Personalized clinical training from experienced preceptors
- Debriefing sessions for exchanging bedside experiences
- Personal support and professional guidance from an assigned mentor
- A Clinical Nurse Educator who navigates the RN Resident through onboarding and transition phases
- Weekly one‑on‑one check‑ins with the Nurse Manager
Applicants selected will begin work after they receive their RN License. The application process is highly competitive; include relevant coursework or training in a concise, professional résumé and cover letter.
Available DepartmentsWe are hiring new graduate RNs for nearly every department, including Medical/Surgical, Orthopaedic Spine, Telemetry, Emergency Department, Oncology, Operating Room, Intermediate Cardiac Step Down, Neuro‑Progressive Care Unit, and several other units.
RNs will be placed in specific departments as PRN or Full‑Time positions based on availability. In 2016, all new graduate RNs were moved to a benefits‑eligible position within six months of hire.
We are not hiring new graduate RNs for Labor & Delivery, Nursery, or ICUs. If interested in those areas, we can discuss a career path to get there.
Qualifications Requirements, Certifications & Licensures- Current North Carolina RN License (by July 2017)
- BLS preferred
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (by May 2017)
