Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Telemetry Overflow night shift position in Hickory, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac nursing experience and AHA‑issued BLS and ACLS certifications.

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• AHA‑issued BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry or cardiac nursing experience
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Proficiency with Life Pak, Zoll, and Masimo equipment required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• 24-bed Telemetry unit within a Medical‑Surgical Combination department
• Cardiac patient population ranging from young adults to elderly adults
• Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, A‑fib, CHF, pre‑ and post‑care for cardiac caths (groin and radial), and VATS
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Equipment used includes Life Pak, Zoll, and Masimo monitors
• Cerner EMR (experience preferred)
• Every other weekend required
• No on‑call requirements
• May occasionally float to IMCU, NPCU, and/or Surgical units
• 355‑bed Duke LifePoint hospital with specialized centers including a Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, Lung Center, Orthopedics, and a Level 3 NICU
• Orientation is offered twice monthly
• No scrub color restrictions — any color scrubs are acceptable
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are currently employed full‑time elsewhere are not eligible
