This department cares for Med/Surg, Stepdown, and ICU patients.

The Acute Care Registered Nurse plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN is responsible for pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, advocating for patients to ensure an exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions during admission and throughout shifts, accurately reporting any changes in status.
• Perform procedures as directed by medical providers.
• Document the provision of care in patient medical records thoroughly and promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment related to cardiac and medical-surgical care.

• Required Experience: At least one year of RN experience.
• Preferred Experience: Critical care and/or strong hospital experience.

  Education:
  
  Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or enrollment in a BSN/advanced degree program with completion within 5 years of hiring. RNs with 10+ years of experience are exempt from this requirement.
• Preferred Education: Master’s in Nursing.
• Required License: Active RN licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing; eNLC licenses may apply.

  BLS, ACLS, and CPI.
• Preferred License: National certification in a specialty area.
