Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse Pulmonary, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care in line with departmental requirements and state standards. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers to ensure a positive clinical outcome.

You Will Do
  • Assess the patient’s condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care in the patient’s medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipate patient needs, and resolve them.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex medical terminology for clear understanding.
Qualifications
  • Required

    Education:

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN program with graduation within 5 years of hire. Grandfathering and extensions may be considered as approved by the facility CNO.
  • Preferred Education:

    Master’s in Nursing.
  • Required License/

    Certifications:

    Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC license may apply.
  • Required Certificate: BLS Healthcare Provider.
  • Preferred Certification:
    National certification in the specialty area.
  • Required Experience:

    One year of nursing experience.
