The Progressive Care Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the medical team. You will provide crucial pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocate for patients to ensure an unparalleled experience.
About the UnitThe Progressive Care Unit is a 44‑bed stepdown unit specializing in trauma, neurosciences, surgery, and oncology care.
What you will do- Assess patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, documenting any changes in status.
- Execute medical procedures and follow the directives of medical providers.
- Ensure thorough and timely documentation of care in patients' medical records.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical‑surgical patients.
- Required
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or enrollment in a BSN program with completion within 5 years of hire. RNs with 10+ years of experience are exempt. - Preferred Education:
Master’s in Nursing. - Required License/
Certifications:
Current RN license with the North Carolina Board of Nursing, or eNLC eligibility. BLS Healthcare Provider certification required. - Preferred
Certifications:
National Certification in an area of specialty. - Required Experience:
A minimum of one year of nursing experience.
