Job Description & How to Apply Below

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse Oncology to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to oncology patients across the continuum, including assessment, treatment, symptom management, education, and coordination of services. Working in a collaborative environment that emphasizes teamwork, respect, and professional growth, you will partner closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, social workers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based oncology care.

The Registered Nurse Oncology is responsible for performing thorough patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering chemotherapy and other oncology treatments in accordance with established protocols, monitoring for and responding to side effects and complications, and providing ongoing education and emotional support to patients and their families. You will use your clinical judgment to recognize changes in patient condition, initiate appropriate interventions, and elevate concerns as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.

The role includes accurate documentation within the electronic health record, adherence to all safety and infection-prevention standards, and participation in quality improvement initiatives related to oncology services.

Mission Health fosters a culture of continuous learning and professional development. As a Registered Nurse Oncology, you will have opportunities to expand your oncology expertise through continuing education, certification support, and mentorship. You will contribute to a supportive work environment by precepting new staff when needed, participating in staff meetings and educational activities, and actively engaging in efforts to enhance the patient experience.

The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting while maintaining compassionate, patient-focused care.

This opportunity is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about oncology, values interdisciplinary collaboration, and is looking for long-term professional growth within a leading healthcare organization committed to improving the health and wellness of the community it serves.
