Job Summary

As a PACU Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in the immediate post‑operative care of surgical patients. Your responsibilities will include managing airway support, closely monitoring neurological and cardiac status, and responding promptly to any complications or side effects. You will provide initial wound care to the patients' surgical site and ensure patient stability during recovery. You will collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia team.

This role includes on‑call availability during select non‑business hours which will be discussed in the interview.

Position Details
  • What you will do in this role:
    • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
    • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
    • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
    • Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitor response.
    • Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical‑surgical patients.
  • What qualifications you will need:
    • Required

      Education:

      Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with completion of a BSN within 5 years of hire date into the RN position. Grandfathering will be accepted between departments and Mission Health entities. RNs with 10 years or more of experience are exempt.
    • Required License/

      Certifications:

      Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply; licensee should confirm with the NCBON. Certificate: BLS Healthcare Provider
      4. Preferred:
      National Certification in area of specialty.
    • Preferred Experience:

      One year hospital nursing experience.
