Position: Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) New Grad Medical/Telemetry

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Medical/Telemetry – Fulltime:

Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of an RN, collect data for patient assessment and analysis.
  • Establish and maintain efficient methods of ensuring the medical necessity and appropriateness of all hospital admissions while obtaining precertification.
  • Perform admission and concurrent precertifications to secure authorization numbers and prevent denials.
  • Communicate effectively with payors, staff, and referral sources, maintaining proper telephone etiquette.
  • Manage patients under the supervision of an RN case manager, evaluating patient status to ensure appropriate reimbursement.
  • Review charts for clinical information to obtain precertification.
Qualifications
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current LPN license in the state of North Carolina.
