The RN Second Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing nursing operations during the evening shift, ensuring exceptional resident care, regulatory compliance, and staff support. This position serves as a clinical leader and resource for nursing staff while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and oversight for nursing operations during second shift
- Supervise, mentor, and support RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
- Ensure residents receive high-quality, compassionate care
- Monitor resident conditions and respond appropriately to clinical concerns
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations
- Conduct shift reports and facilitate communication between departments and shifts
- Assist with staff coaching, development, and performance improvement initiatives
Review and maintain accurate clinical documentation - Investigate and report incidents, resident concerns, and changes in condition
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a resident-centered culture
- Current, active, and unencumbered North Carolina or Compact State RN License
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, preferably in Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision‑making skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced healthcare environment
