As a Nurse Extern, you will be an integral part of the nursing team, gaining valuable hands‑on experience as you explore the role of a Registered Nurse. Your efforts will help provide safe, compassionate care to improve patients' lives, while you build the skills and confidence needed for advanced responsibilities in your nursing career.
Your responsibilities will include- Assisting patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), monitoring vital signs, facilitating mobility, and ensuring patient comfort and hygiene.
- Performing nursing tasks such as wound care and catheter care, while collecting specimens and growing your competencies.
- Accurately documenting patient care and promptly communicating updates to the nursing team.
- Educating patients and families on care plans and health recovery strategies.
- Maintaining clean and safe patient environments by adhering to infection prevention standards and managing equipment effectively.
- Advancing your growth and enhancing patient care through engagement in learning opportunities and collaborating with your supervisor for personal career development.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be secured within 30 days of employment start date.
- Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited nursing program.
- NC Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
