Registered Nurse – Float Pool Full-Time Days (1611745)
Frye Regional Medical Center – a community hospital supported by Duke LifePoint Healthcare.
Summary of Major Responsibilities- The Registered Nurse has knowledge of nursing care and is able to carry out routine patient care assignments. Documents nursing activities and nursing care rendered and works within guidelines of Nursing Services and in collaboration with physicians.
- Assesses patient’s status and develops, implements and evaluates the plan of care and education based on patients assessed needs.
- Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates treatment based on age-specific criteria and provides care appropriate to the age of the patient served (all ages).
- Considers factors and implements actions to ensure safety, effectiveness and cost containment in planning and delivering care to patients, families and visitors.
- Administers medications accurately and within the guidelines of organization’s established policies.
- Exhibits flexibility in meeting department and facility needs.
- Ability to apply and monitor patients requiring telemetry monitoring.
- Maintains personal and professional competency and growth according to Float Pool and organizational requirements.
- Implements Physician Orders in a correct, safe, and timely manner. Performs 12-hour chart check in accordance with unit policies and standards of care.
- Performs appropriate care of assigned patients focusing on pain control, wound care, Foley care, fall precautions and core measures upon discharge.
- Follows FRMC Attendance and Punctuality policy.
- Performs duties as an independent and empowered member of the healthcare team.
- Adherence to all core measure initiatives, patient safety goals, and NQF Safe Practices.
Requirements, Certifications & Licensures
- Current CPR certification.
- ACLS required for all Critical Care areas, preferred for all others.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures approved by this facility.
- ACLS within 6 months of employment for critical care nurse, then every 2 years.
- 12 lead EKG course within 1 year of employment.
