Job Summary

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care per the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.”

The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

• Assesses patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
• Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Responds promptly to patient requests, anticipates patient needs and resolves them proactively.
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes and supports recovery.
• Serves as the interface between healthcare providers and community support systems to coordinate ongoing care needs for specialized patient groups.

  Education:
  
  Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with the requirement to obtain a BSN within five years of hire date.
• Preferred Education: Master’s in Nursing.
• Required License/
  
  Certifications:
  
  Current licensure as a registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC license may apply.
• Certificate: BLS Healthcare Provider.
• National certification in the area of specialty.
• Experience: One year of nursing experience. RNs with 10 or more years of experience are exempt.
