Mission Health, a comprehensive healthcare provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a General Medicine Clinical Nurse Coordinator to support our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will coordinate and oversee daily clinical nursing operations on a general medicine unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. As a Registered Nurse leader at the bedside, you will serve as a primary clinical resource for staff, helping to guide complex decision-making, support patient flow, and promote an environment of collaboration and professional growth.
Working closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and social workers, the General Medicine Clinical Nurse Coordinator will facilitate interdisciplinary communication to achieve optimal outcomes for a diverse adult patient population with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. You will conduct and review comprehensive nursing assessments, assist with triage and prioritization of patient needs, coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges, and ensure that individualized care plans are implemented and evaluated effectively.
This position combines direct patient care with coordination and leadership responsibilities. You will administer medications, perform IV therapies and other general medicine nursing interventions, monitor patient responses, and provide timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record. In partnership with the nurse manager and charge nurses, you will help to identify workflow improvements, participate in quality and safety initiatives, support adherence to regulatory and organizational standards, and model evidence-based practice.
