As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) you will provide direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will be responsible for nursing observations, care plans, medication administration, patient instruction, equipment setup and coordination of care throughout admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Essential Functions- Make and document nursing observations.
- Provide input into development and maintenance of the nursing care plan.
- Implement assigned aspects of the nursing care plan.
- Collaborate with RNs and providers.
- Coordinate patient care, admissions, transfers and discharges with patient care, service and business office personnel, as requested by RNs.
- Administer medications, treatment and therapies per scope of practice.
- Communicate with patients.
- Provide patient and/or family with instruction and education relevant to their condition, as delegated and supervised by RN.
- Set up, utilize and/or maintain equipment, supplies and work area.
- Assist in the orientation of new employees.
- Participate in performance/process improvement activities.

Minimum Education
:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Skills
:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications
:
Basic Life Support (BLS).
Licenses
:
Current LPN license in state of NC.
