Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Frye Care Generations

• Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Establishes and maintains efficient methods to ensure the medical necessity and appropriateness of all hospital admissions while obtaining precertifications.
• Performs admission and concurrent pre‑certs for patients to ensure that the claim has an authorization number to prevent denials.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with payors, staff, etc.
• Reviews charts for clinical information to obtain precertification.
• Maintains proper telephone etiquette to referral sources.
• Manages patients along with RN case manager supervision.
• Evaluates patient status to confirm medical necessity for appropriate reimbursement.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications & Licenses

Basic Life Support (BLS). Current LPN license in the state of NC.
