Job Description & How to Apply Below

Blue Ridge Regional Hospital, part of Mission Health, is seeking a compassionate and detail‑oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide direct, patient‑centered nursing care in collaboration with Registered Nurses, physicians, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team. The LPN will assist with assessment by collecting and reporting patient data, administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and hospital policy, and closely monitor patient status, promptly reporting changes in condition.

Working in a fast‑paced acute care environment, you will perform clinical tasks such as wound care, IV therapy within scope, specimen collection, basic respiratory care, and point‑of‑care testing, while maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.

The Licensed Practical Nurse will support patients and families by offering education on diagnoses, medications, and discharge instructions, reinforcing teaching provided by RNs and providers. You will promote patient safety through adherence to infection prevention practices, medication administration protocols, and fall‑prevention and safety initiatives. As part of Mission Health’s inclusive and collaborative culture, you will actively participate in interdisciplinary rounds, communicate effectively with colleagues across departments, and contribute to care planning to ensure continuity and high‑quality outcomes.

The role also involves prioritizing and organizing daily patient care assignments, managing workload efficiently, and escalating concerns appropriately to the supervising RN or provider.

Aligned with Mission Health’s commitment to compassion, innovation, and excellence, the LPN will engage in ongoing professional development, attend required trainings and competencies, and support performance‑improvement and evidence‑based practice initiatives on the unit. You will demonstrate cultural sensitivity, respect for patient dignity, and strong customer service skills in every interaction. This position is ideal for an LPN who values teamwork, is eager to grow clinically, and is dedicated to making a meaningful impact on patients, families, and the broader community in a dynamic hospital setting.
