Provides direct day‑to‑day care of patients and families.
Practices to the fullest extent of employee license in accordance with organizational policies. Under the direction of the Nurse Director, functions as a member of the Float Team to implement the patient’s plan of care.
Provides population specific care and meets the developmental needs of populations served.
How you will contribute- Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
- Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
- Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
- Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
- Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

Applicants should have a current state RN license.
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Additional requirements include:
- Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire
- Handle With Care preferred
- One (1) to Two (2) years of bedside RN experience required
- Two (2) to Four (4) years of critical care experience preferred
Float to the following units:
Nephrology/Oncology (NEON), 4N, Neuro Progressive Care Unit, Nursing Rehab, Telemetry, Progressive Stepdown Unit (IMCU), Surgical Unit.
Certifications required for Tier I:
- NEON: BLS required
- 4N: BLS required
- NPCU: BLS required; ACLS and NIH within 3 months of hire or transfer
- Rehab: BLS required
- Telemetry: BLS required; ACLS within 3 months of hire or transfer
- IMCU: BLS required; ACLS and NIH within 3 months of hire or transfer
- Surgical: BLS required
Meet all Tier 1 criteria and be competent to float to two specialty areas:
Cardiovascular Unit (CVICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Emergency Department (ED), Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDRP). Certifications required for Tier 2:
- CVICU: BLS; ACLS, NIH and Handle With Care within 3 months
- CCU: BLS; ACLS, NIH and Handle With Care within 3 months
- NICU: BLS; ACLS, NIH and Handle With Care within 3 months
- ED: BLS; ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), NIH and Handle With Care within 3 months; ASLS and TNCC preferred
- LDRP: BLS; ACLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring and Handle With Care within 3 months
- Nursery: BLS; NRP within 3 months
At least two (2) years experience as a Registered Nurse required (unless previous LPN experience).
