Position: Quality Technician III

Location: Hickory, NC

Shift: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $31.34/hour

Summary Description

The Quality Technician III is responsible for ensuring customer quality expectations are consistently met or exceeded by supporting quality systems, product testing, continuous improvement initiatives, and plant-wide quality programs. This role partners closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to monitor product quality, analyze data, support audits, and drive process improvements in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Perform required off‑line testing to verify products meet customer specifications.
  • Accurately collect, enter, and maintain quality data while monitoring trends and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with machine operators to identify defects, communicate findings, and document corrective actions.
  • Maintain laboratory records, quality documentation, and product retention samples.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to resolve quality issues.
  • Analyze quality metrics, internal scrap, process capability data, customer complaints, and returns.
  • Verify customer returns are received, documented, and processed accurately and on time.
  • Participate in plant quality initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Serve as an active member of at least one plant safety team.
  • Prepare, maintain, and communicate plant quality metrics and reports.
  • Assist with preparation for internal, customer, and third‑party quality audits.
  • Support the Quality Engineer with process improvement and corrective action initiatives.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects focused on product quality, process capability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with company quality standards, food safety requirements, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
We'd Love to Hear From You If
  • You have experience in a manufacturing or quality assurance environment.
  • You have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • You possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are comfortable communicating with operators, supervisors, engineers, and leadership.
  • You have strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • You can read and interpret manufacturing specifications, work instructions, and quality documentation.
  • You have excellent attention to detail and can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • You are comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • You are willing to work occasional overtime and support off‑hours quality issues when required.
  • Experience with quality systems, audits, statistical analysis, or continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
