Responsibilities
  • Perform incoming inspections and dimensional verification of externally supplied products to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.
  • Operate precision measurement equipment and inspection tools to evaluate product quality and support technical assessments.
  • Assist Quality Engineering and Quality Management with investigations, root cause analysis, containment activities, and corrective actions.
  • Conduct and support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities, including interpretation of engineering drawings and completion of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
  • Develop and provide Certificates of Conformance and other customer-required quality documentation to support product shipments and compliance requirements.
  • Respond to customer requests for compliance, certification, and traceability documentation.
  • Support the administration of the calibration program, including scheduling external calibration services, performing internal calibrations, maintaining records, and assisting with out-of-calibration assessments.
  • Facilitate document control processes, including document updates, approvals, distribution tracking, and maintenance of controlled documentation libraries.
  • Lead and/or support internal quality audits to verify compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and quality system requirements.
  • Assist warehouse and logistics operations as needed, including receiving, inventory put-away, order picking, and shipping support.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and ensure proper organization, storage, and retrieval of inspection and compliance data.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to promote continuous improvement and support quality objectives throughout the organization.
Must Haves
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing, engineering, or technical environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency using precision measurement and inspection equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage records, documentation, and data accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Haves
  • Experience with optical fiber, cable, connector, or related telecommunications products.
  • Familiarity with ERP or material management systems.
  • Experience operating or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Experience performing visual inspections using microscopes.
  • Knowledge of calibration systems, quality audits, and document control processes.
  • Exposure to First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and quality management systems.
  • Understanding of supplier quality and incoming inspection processes.
