NC Clinic - Hickory, NC 28602, CTSHealth is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our Community Support Team (CST). In this role, you will use your lived experience, recovery knowledge, and peer support skills to empower individuals on their journey toward wellness, independence, and community integration.
As a valued member of our multidisciplinary treatment team, you will help individuals develop coping skills, increase self-sufficiency, and achieve goals identified in their Person-Centered Plan (PCP). This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about advocacy, recovery, resilience, and helping others thrive.
What You'll Do- Partner with clients to support their recovery and personal goals.
- Encourage self-determination, independence, and active participation in treatment.
- Model recovery-focused values and promote resilience and wellness.
- Provide peer support, coaching, psychoeducation, and skill-building activities.
- Support individuals in developing life skills such as communication, self-advocacy, health awareness, transportation, money management, and community living skills.
- Assist with crisis intervention and relapse prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with the CST team and other service providers to coordinate care.
- Monitor client progress and communicate updates to the treatment team.
- Connect clients with community resources and support services.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and service notes.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, supervision, and person-centered planning activities.
- Help ensure access to crisis response and support services as part of the CST model.
Required Qualifications
- Current North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (NCCPSS) Certification.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with the population served or providing peer support services.
- Understanding of recovery principles, behavioral health challenges, and community-based support services.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Complete all required CTSHealth and service-specific training.
- Follow all agency policies, procedures, confidentiality standards, and professional conduct expectations.
- Participate in ongoing supervision, team meetings, and professional development activities.
