Estimator; HVAC Subcontractor in Hicksville

Our full-service HVAC subcontracting firm is seeking an experienced mechanical estimator to bid on project contracts ranging from 5-20 million dollars. We are proud to work with some of the most prominent general contractors in the metropolitan area, and we need a skilled estimator to join our team!

• Responding to bid proposals from GC's based off of drawings/RFP in a timely manner
• Strong ability to execute mechanical takeoffs/estimates that include all mechanical scope (mechanical equipment/piping/ductwork/service/controls/etc)
• Accurately estimating plan/spec and design/build HVAC systems using computer estimating systems and other related software
• Maintaining estimating logs and unit costs for all projects
• Establishing and maintaining vendor relationships
• Performing site surveys and attending pre-bid walkthroughs
• Interacting with the sales and project management teams to ensure all projects are performed under budget and according to plans and specifications
• Coordinating trades as needed

• 5-10 years of experience in the HVAC business with a demonstrated history
• Prior experience in mechanical estimating is a must
• Fully capable of understanding construction drawings
• Ability to maintain equipment/job/estimate logs
• Strong coordination skills
