  • Pay Rate : $48/Hr.
SCHEDULE - MONDAY - FRIDAY 7AM-5PM Summary

The Tumor Registrar ensures that complete and accurate data are collected and maintained for all patients diagnosed with and/or treated for cancer within the institution. Follows all policies and procedures set forth by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, NY State Department of Health Cancer Registry, and Hospital Cancer Committee. This position requires a background in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, data analysis and collection and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors; answer and direct phone calls professionally.
  • Register patients by accurately entering and updating demographic, financial, and insurance information.
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain required consent signatures.
  • Generate and review patient charts for required documentation and completeness.
  • Process laboratory specimens according to established procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain patient records and logs.
  • File and retrieve charts and supporting documents.
  • Escort patients/visitors and transport patients as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and culturally respectful environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
License/Certifications
  • Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credential is required
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 6–9 months of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and work in a fast-paced environment.
