We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist
- Class A with strong hands-on experience setting up and operating multi-axis CNC lathes.
The ideal candidate can independently set up CNC lathe machines with minimal supervision, run existing CNC programs, make tool and machine offsets, inspect their own work, and troubleshoot machining issues while maintaining tight tolerances. Experience with Swiss-type CNC lathes is a plus but is not required.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate 2-4 multi-axis CNC lathes.
- Independently perform machine setups with minimal supervision.
- Load and run existing CNC programs.
- Make tool offsets and machine offsets as required.
- Perform tool changes during production.
- Produce precision components to tight dimensional tolerances.
- Inspect first-piece and production parts to verify conformance.
- Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision inspection equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Monitor tool wear and make appropriate offset adjustments.
- Apply strong shop math and machining knowledge.
- Maintain quality, productivity, and production schedules.
- Work collaboratively with other machinists and support team members.
- Potential opportunity to advance into a Lead Machinist or Supervisor role within 6-12 months based on performance and leadership ability.
Must-Haves:
- 5-10+ years of CNC machining experience, particularly CNC lathe setup and operation.
- Strong experience setting up and operating multi-axis CNC lathes.
- Ability to independently complete machine setups.
- Experience making machine/tool offsets.
- Ability to perform tool changes.
- Strong blueprint/drawing reading skills.
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Ability to inspect your own work and achieve tight tolerances.
- Strong shop math skills.
- Good troubleshooting/problem-solving ability.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work onsite on 1st shift.
Multi-axis setup, offset adjustment, precision inspection, and blueprint interpretation are consistent with current CNC machinist requirements in the market.
