Junior AV Technician

AV Pros NY is a leading provider of integrated audiovisual solutions for commercial, educational, and corporate environments. We specialize in the deployment of modern, highly integrated AV systems and are seeking motivated Junior AV Technicians to join our growing field team. The ideal candidate has basic AV or low‑voltage experience, strong technical curiosity, and a willingness to learn and grow under experienced technicians and engineers.

• Assist with the installation of commercial AV systems including:
• Conference rooms and huddle spaces
• Displays, projectors, and sound systems
• Digital signage and IPTV
• Help pull, route, label, and terminate low‑voltage cabling (Cat6, speaker wire, control, fiber, HDMI, etc.)
• Support mounting of TVs, speakers, cameras, microphones, and rack equipment
• Assist with building and dressing AV racks under supervision

• Assist in powering up and testing AV systems
• Perform basic signal checks for audio and video
• Learn to troubleshoot common issues such as no picture, no audio, or control problems
• Support senior technicians during commissioning and punch‑list work

• Follow instructions, drawings, and jobsite procedures
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized
• Interact professionally with customers and other trades on job sites
• Ask questions and actively learn AV systems, tools, and best practices

• Help keep job progress updated in  or company tools
• Take photos, label cables, and markup drawings when required
• Report issues to the Lead Tech or Project Manager

• 1–2 years of experience in AV, low voltage, IT, electrical, or related technical work
• Interest in audiovisual, technology, electronics, or IT
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools
• Willingness to learn cabling, signal flow, and AV systems
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites in NYC and surrounding areas
• Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in ceilings or racks when required
• Ability to drive our commercial vehicles if needed.
• Capability to report to our office Hicksville NY when requested, for kick‑off meetings, training, and when requested by management.

• AVIXA CTS or willingness to pursue certification
• Basic knowledge of Cat6, HDMI, audio cables, and AV equipment
• Any experience with AV brands such as Crestron, Extron, Q‑SYS, Biamp, Poly, Shure, or Cisco
• Basic computer or networking knowledge
