Job Description & How to Apply Below
A day in your boots
You start the day with a dispatch on your tablet: a national retail client has a sagging aluminum storefront door. On site, you diagnose hinge wear, install a continuous hinge, true up the frame, and tune the closer for a smooth latch. Before leaving, you rekey a restricted keyway cylinder and document everything with photos, parts used, and a clear service report for the facility contact.
Next stop: a medical office where you retrofit a panic device, address latch misalignment, and walk the site to recommend thresholds, sweeps, and gasketing upgrades. Throughout the day, you’re the face of Top Lock — communicating clearly with store managers and facility teams and leaving every opening safer and better than you found it.
What you’ll handle
Install, service, and repair commercial locksets (mortise, cylindrical, deadbolt) and high-security cylinders
Rekey, pin, and maintain master key systems; originate and duplicate keys, including restricted keyways
Fit, repair, and adjust door closers, exit devices/panic hardware, hinges, pivots, and continuous hinges
Diagnose and correct door issues: sagging/settling, frame problems, latch misalignment, thresholds, sweeps, and gasketing
Conduct site surveys and recommend hardware solutions tailored to client needs
Create thorough documentation in our software: photos, parts, service reports, and recommendations
Deliver clear, professional communication and customer service on-site
Low voltage, access control, CCTV, or door replacement experience is a plus.
What you bring
Proven background as a commercial locksmith or commercial door hardware technician
In-depth mechanical knowledge of commercial lock hardware and major manufacturers
Hands-on mastery of master keying, rekeying, and cylinder work
Experience with hollow metal, wood, and aluminum storefront doors and frames
Safe, proficient use of power tools for installation and repair
Sharp troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose hardware and door problems
Professional, customer-focused communication
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record — this is a field-based role Familiarity with electrified hardware or access control is a plus (not required)
Benefits
