Job Purpose:

To provide friendly, efficient, and accurate service to customers while processing transactions, maintaining the checkout area, and supporting the overall store operations.

• Limited or no prior experience
• Works under close supervision
• Focus on learning POS systems, basic procedures, and customer service
• Basic procedures and customer service and still developing speed
• Communication skills
• Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service
• Scan and process customer purchases accurately and efficiently
• Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other forms of payment
• Issue receipts and ensure accurate record-keeping
• Bag or package customer purchases as needed
• Answer customer inquiries and provide assistance with product selection
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
• Stock and replenish supplies at the checkout counter
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and security
• Assist with other store tasks as assigned, such as stocking shelves or cleaning
• Resolve customer complaints and escalate issues to management when necessary
• Promote store promotions and loyalty programs
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times
• Additional duties:
  Management reserves the right to assign additional tasks as necessary to support store operations

• Preferred Education:
  
  High School Diploma or equivalent
• Required Experience:
  
  Cash handling experience preferred but not required
• Required
  
  Skills and Abilities:
  
  Basic math skills; strong communication and customer service skills; ability to operate a cash register and other point-of-sale equipment; ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately; ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor; ability to stand for extended periods of time; ability to lift up to 25 pounds; bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
