About the Role

The North Carolina Department of Revenue is recruiting for a Forms Processing Associate in our Submissions Processing Division (SPD). This onsite position reports to NCDOR Headquarters, 501 N. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27604. The primary purpose of the role is to review, prepare, and process all tax schedules and documents through scanners, posting them to the Department’s Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS), Document Management System (DMS), and Public Sector Revenue Management System (PSRM).

The associate also maintains inventory reports, manages Federal Tax Information (FTI) destruction, prints and processes electronically submitted forms, presents data to leadership, and handles records awaiting destruction. Seasonal staffing support—including training materials, PowerPoint creation, supply organization, and work‑area preparation—is also required. Physical demands include sorting documents, lifting batches up to 25 pounds, and moving carts up to 500 pounds.

Responsibilities
  • Review and prepare all tax schedules/documents for scanning and posting to ITAS, DMS, and PSRM.
  • Maintain inventory reports and secure handling instructions for Federal Tax Information (FTI).
  • Print, process, and submit electronically filed forms; present data and insights to leadership.
  • Manage scanned records awaiting destruction per retention schedules.
  • Process email queues, research, and pull documents for the Document Management System.
  • Assist in preparing seasonal staff by developing training materials, Power Points, and organizing supplies and folders.
  • Provide timesheets and create/maintain work areas for seasonal staff.
  • Adhere to peak‑period work‑hour adjustments, including up to 2 extra hours Monday‑Friday and up to 8 hours on Saturdays during specified peak periods (mid‑April and mid‑October).
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and one year of administrative experience (or equivalent education and experience).
  • Working knowledge of data collection and storage to compile, assimilate, and organize printed and electronic information.
  • Experience conveying information and ideas through multiple media to individuals or groups, including explaining inventory reports and correspondences.
  • Demonstrated experience with office equipment and technology (software and systems) to meet work needs.
  • Experience sorting, tubbing, and delivering mail.
Salary Range

$31,200 – $39,000
